Alfredo Sanzol writes and directs La Valentía "a gift for those who have suffered the wounds left by progress" (02/08/2018)

Alfredo Sanzol, National Prize for Dramatic Literature 2017, and recently Premio Valle Inclán, for "La respiración" and "La ternura", respectively, that could be seen in the last two editions of the Festival he writes and directs "La Valentía", a comedy which speaks humorously of the weight of the past, the attitude with which it faces, of fear, and of the courage necessary to overcome it.

The story is played by two sisters, Guada and Trini, who inherit a family home with fond memories, now fogged by a highway five meters from the house.

The most sentimental sister, Guada decides to stay despite the inconvenience of the highway while Trini, more rational prefer to get rid of the house.

The work derives towards the comedy of entanglement, with the appearance of two couples, one formed by the brothers Clemen and Felipe, hired by Trini to scare their sister with paranormal effects and dissuade her from staying in the house, and another formed by two other brothers, Martina and Martín, tenants of Trini that seeks to take money to maintain the house.

The three pairs of brothers who coincide in the same weekend in the house, weave a perfect imbroglio riddled with comic situations that include cinematographic winks to genre titles such as "El resplandor", "Los cazafantasmas" and "Nosferatu".

The scenography of Fernando Sánchez Cabezudo and Eduardo Moreno is decisive to give the house the importance it has in the development of history with translucent walls in movement and a central sofa that also moves.

The work, premiered at the Teatro Pavón Kamikaze, in Madrid, last May, has something autobiographical as Alfredo Sanzol has admitted that he saw how in the 80s they placed a highway in front of the beautiful house in the north of Burgos where he spent his holidays, For what he considers his latest work as "a gift for those who have suffered the wounds that progress leaves."

The cast is composed of Jesús Barranco, Francisco Carril, Inma Cuevas, Estefanía de los Santos, Font García and Natalia Huarte.
