María del Mar Blanco claims the social unity of the "spirit of Ermua" in the inauguration of an avenue dedicated to her brother Miguel Ãngel Blanco, in San Javier (21/09/2018)

The renowned road of Sucina, which connects the AP-7 with the urban center, will be the subject of a comprehensive remodeling work worth 1.1 million euros financed by an agreement signed today in San Javier by President Fernando López Miras and the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo

María del Mar Blanco discovered today in San Javier the plaque of the Avenue that bears the name of her brother, the councilor of Ermua assassinated by ETA 21 years ago, Miguel Ángel Blanco, accompanied by the president of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia , Fernando López Miras and the mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo who affirmed that it is "a gesture of the municipality of San Javier to the memory, dignity and justice towards Miguel Ángel Blanco and towards all the victims of terrorism".

The national deputy and president of the Miguel Angel Blanco Foundation thanked his family for this homage to his brother "with whom we remember and pay tribute to something we must never forget, the so-called Ermua spirit that brought about the social unity that started at the end of ETA. "

María del Mar Blanco warned of the opportunity of this type of acts at the moment when the story of the events is being constructed to counter the story of the terrorists "who longs for oblivion, equidistance and who appeals to the old theory of conflict and opposing sides ".

"This country can not forget the true heroes of democracy, innocent people who took their lives for defending the principles of freedom, respect and tolerance," said María del Mar Blanco, who stressed the importance of "keeping memory alive as a guarantee" for the future, and that no one will ever forget the victims ".

María del Mar Blanco recalled that it was the lack of freedom in the Basque Country that led her brother to enter politics and that he died innocent like the rest of the victims of ETA "who never belonged to either side, nor did they pumps. "

The tribute to Miguel Angel Blanco and the victims of terrorism gives "soul" to the remodeling works that will soon be the subject of the renowned Sucina highway, said the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo in the Municipal Museum where it was held an act prior to the discovery of the plate that already hangs on the side wall of the building.

The works, which have an investment of 1.1 million euros, "are the example of collaboration between administrations," said President Fernando Lopez Miras, who highlighted the improvement that will imply both security and access from the AP7 and for the Nearby industrial estates such as Los Urreas, which has 46 companies and 1700 workers.

López Miras advanced the investment of 4.5 million in the next two years in improvements in other accesses that will benefit the El Pino and Dos Mares polygons, in the same line of collaboration between administrations.

The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo stressed the importance of these works "in an area in full expansion" both by the polygon Los Urreas and the one that develops on the other side of the avenue that reaches the urban center.

Luengo highlighted the construction of a rainwater collector included in the remodeling project "to avoid the stagnations that occur in the area in periods of heavy rains."

The counselor of Promotion Patricio Valverde was the one in charge to present the works that will be tendered in October with a term of execution of five months in a section by which 5,500 vehicles circulate every day.

The works, which extend 860 meters, include the remodeling of the current roundabout that connects with the AP-7 and the RM-1 highway (San Javier-Zeneta) and the splitting of the road to the urban core, with a median of palm trees, up to a new construction of 52 meters, which improves access to industrial estates on both sides of the avenue.

The road, which will maintain the existing trees, will continue to the urban center with a lane in both directions and sidewalks of two meters on both sides.

A rainwater collector and the replacement of all urban services complete the project of the new avenue Miguel Ángel Blanco.
