San Javier will host the third Family Encounter Point for the attention to victims of gender violence, in the Region of Murcia (06/06/2019)

San Javier is as of today one of the only three Family Encounter Points (Pefviogen) for the attention to victims of gender violence that the Region of Murcia has, along with Lorca and Murcia.

The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities Acting, Adela Martínez Cachá, accompanied by the Councilor for Social Services of San Javier, Estíbaliz Masegosa and the workers of the Center Specialized in Attention to Women Victims of Gender Violence, CAVI, of San Javier, presented today in San Javier this new service "that was a pioneer in Spain to specialize in mediation in families where there have been cases of violence against women."

Martínez Cachá assured that the Family Meeting Point "has become an essential element in the Victims Assistance Resource Network".

The Family Encounter Point of San Javier, which will be located in the Telephone of Hope building, provided by the Association through an agreement with the Ministry, will facilitate, among other things, the regime of family visits of children of women victims of gender violence in a safe environment, attended by specialized personnel.

The counselor visited the center accompanied by the President of the Phone of Hope of Murcia, María Guerrero, who showed her satisfaction to be able to work from her NGO on gender violence in collaboration with the two administrations.

Both the counselor, Adela Martínez-Cachá and the Councilor for Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa thanked the Telephone of Hope for its collaboration with the transfer of the building and staff who will receive specialized training from the Ministry.

The Councilor for Social Services of San Javier, Estíbaliz Masegosa also thanked the Regional Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities for the location of this Family Encounter Point in San Javier "because it will mean a substantial improvement in the service we provide from San Javier to the victims of gender violence "and recalled other recent improvements in the service, such as the full-time extension of CAVI workers in San Javier, which, like the service presented today, has a regional character.
