Jazz Flamenco Night with Antonio Lizana and Soul Jazz with the Kennedy Administration at the San Javier Jazz Festival (11/07/2019)

The first concert of the night will be by Antonio Lizana, who has managed with talent and passion to become, in a short time, one of the most outstanding figures of Spanish jazz, recognized inside and outside of Spain.

The saxophonist, cantaor and composer from Cadiz, who sold out the tickets during the NYC Flamenco Festival, at the legendary Joe's Pub, where Amy Winehouse and Adele debuted, returns to Jazz San Javier consolidated as one of the leading musicians in flamenco jazz.

His frequent and extensive international tours demonstrate the interest that this multifaceted artist of powerful live shows with his sextet.

Antonio Lizana, who has collaborated with artists such as Miguel Ríos, José Mercé and Raimundo Amador, among many others, has participated in Miguel Blanco's Afrodisian Orchestra and collaborates with the Afro-Latin-jazz Orchestra of Arturo O'farrill, from New York with which he recorded a Grammy-winning album for the best instrumental jazz Latin album.

"Oriente" is the third and last album of Lizana, with which it opens up to new sounds of the world passed through the sieve of jazz and flamenco.

As guests of Antonio Lizano and his Sextet, the Bosnian trumpeter settled in Spain, Miron Rafajlovic and Cádiz singer María La Mónica will perform.

The second part of the night will leave the premiere at Jazz San Javier of one of the indispensable bands of the current musical circuit of New York, the Kennedy Administration, a band led by the charismatic singer Kennedy, who mixes soul with touches of jazz, r & b, hip-hop and funk.

The resident band of the legendary club The Groove, in the Greenwich Village of New York, is formed by excellent musicians such as the keyboardist Ondre J. who recorded and turned with Gregory Porter;

the great drummer Nathaniel Townsley who has worked with Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Alejandro Sanz, among many other artists, who are joined by Dan Muniz, who has toured with Funkadelic, on guitar and Chelton Gray on bass.

The perfect conjunction and solvency of the musicians that make up the band, translates into a sound of their own and an energetic live performance enhanced by the power of the vocalist Kennedy, whose records reveal influences and similarities with divas such as Sade and Anita Baker.

Kennedy displays charisma and optimism on the stage, bringing a new dimension to the amazing versions of great classics such as "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green or "Will It Go Round" by Billy Preston, included in "Kennedy Administration" (2017) ), their first album with eight original songs, with which they are consolidated as a group with their own identity.
