San Javier City Council has expressed its condolences to the Air Force and the General Air Academy for the death of flight instructor commander Daniel Melero and his student Ensign Rosa María Almirón, after the accident that took place this morning in front of the beach of Santiago de la Ribera and has declared a day of official mourning in the municipality.
He also expresses his deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, who has come to the place of the event with the president of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, who was in the area, has made available to the AGA and Guard Civil, at the head of the rescue operation, the necessary municipal services such as municipal emergency services that were located in front of the accident area.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo has expressed the consternation of the entire municipality in the face of this new event that adds to the accident that took place off the coast of La Manga del Mar Menor on August 26 when Commander Francisco Marín lost his life.
José Miguel Luengo pointed out the close relationship between the AGA and the municipality "so that the feeling of loss is even greater, feeling it as our own for what has been declared a day of official mourning in the municipality."
