The Department of Environment will take advantage of the celebration of Forest Day or Tree Day and World Water Day, held on 21 and 22 March, to draw attention to the importance of the protection and conservation of natural resources such as Forests and water, Environment Councilor Antonio Luengo said today during the presentation of a program of activities aimed at the young.
The mayor of Environment emphasized the importance of "emphasizing with the smallest in the need to curb climate change with acts as simple as turning off the TV or the computer when they are not used, turn off the tap while we brush our teeth, adjust The thermostat and recycle as much as we can, so that, besides, they are the ones that transmit it to the adults ".
One of the programmed activities that has been offered to schools is "Aquology", in collaboration with Hidrogea, with which through interactive games work uses and cycles of water.
"The schoolchildren have to know that 100% of the water in the municipality is managed in the municipal treatment plant where it is treated for irrigation," added Luengo.
Another activity is celebrated tomorrow with a visit to the Caudete Glass Recycling Plant, Albacete, for the students of ESO 2nd of the "Sacred Heart" school, which will enjoy the award they obtained last year in a contest on Recycling organized at the Environment Week.
On Tuesday, March 21 will open the mobile planters that have been made with materials recycled by staff of the council, so that children of the Municipal School Children can have their own school garden, after visits to the neighboring school garden of the CEIP "La Paz", one of the oldest in the municipality, to know how it works.
On Saturday 25 March, San Javier will join another year to Earth Hour, symbolically turning off the lighting of the Plaza de España in San Javier and the tower of the Estacio bridge in La Manga, 20 : 30 to 21:30.
On March 28, an excursion, for which it will be necessary to previously register, is called to the Integrated Center for Training and Experiences Agrarian, Torre Pacheco to know the activities and agricultural projects that are developed in this center, completing the visit with other places of Interest as the mills and El Pasico.
