The Municipal School Children premiere school garden (21/03/2017)

School gardens continue to grow in the municipality.

The Municipal School of San Javier premiered this morning the mobile planters that lacking a suitable space will allow children to become familiar with the agricultural process.

Councilor for Agriculture and Environment Antonio Luengo helped the school's 2 and 3 year olds plant their first ball peppers, strawberries and cherry tomatoes in the flower pots located in a corner of the patio covered with rubber floor.

As it happened in the Point of Attention to the Children of the Mirador, the council of Environment itself has manufactured large planters, with recycled materials, and equipped with wheels to be able to orient them in the light of the sun.

Children will periodically go to their particular orchard to irrigate and care for their plantations until the fruits are harvested.

The Councilor for the Environment, Antonio Luengo recalled the goal of all schools have an orchard for children to have direct contact with the agricultural process, and have the technical support of the council to ensure the success of the project .

For now and to begin the children will visit the school garden of the CEIP "La Paz", next to the Children's School, to receive their first notions.

Luengo recalled that today's activity coincides with the Day of the Tree and World Water Day that is celebrated tomorrow, and that the council commemorates a program of activities such as "Aqualogy", with the collaboration of Hidrogea, who tomorrow arrives at the school "Sacred Heart", which shows the uses and processes of action with water.
