The Festival inaugurates its musical section with Pitingo that combines African American and flamenco music with "Soulería y más"

The music is premiered at the Festival with Pitingo, "a direct singer" who carries in his dn African-American and flamenco music and who has created his own style with which reinterprets great hits of soul and pop sung with flamenco soul.

On his latest album "Soul, Bulería y más" (the sixth of his discography), published in 2016, he dares with classics like "Is not no mountain high enough" by Marvin Gaye, "Nights of white satin" by The Moody Blues, Temptations' My Girl, Ben E. King's "Stand by me," or the "Cucurrucucú dove" that has been sung by Caetano Veloso, among many others.

Pitingo, which in calé means presumed, is characterized by his eclecticism since he published his first album "Pintigo con habichuelas" (2006) sponsored by flamenco greats like the Habichuela family or Carmen Linares.

In his second work "Soulería" is introduced fully in the fusion achieving its enormous success with the version of "Killing me softly with this song", that made known to the general public and with which he received the Prize of Music 2009 As Artist Revelation

Pitingo says that since he was little he grew up with the two types of music that although he recognizes that musically have nothing to do, "have the same jondura" when expressing both griefs and joys.

Although when choosing your versions you have to take into account the technical possibilities offered by rhythm and letter, it is especially the fact that "I have something that I wear the hairs" that moves you to make it yours.

Antonio Alvarez, the real name of the singer born in Huelva, moves to taste in the world of fusion although on his penultimate album "Cambio de Tercio" wanted to return to his roots more flamenco than never completely abandoned.

In a concert of Pitingo can sound of everything as it has demonstrated this man who before beginning in the music worked in the airport of Madrid and that in a short time it has managed to consolidate its race with its own style.

Pitingo has sung songs from Police, Bob Marley, The Beatles or Ray Charles among many others and has made duets with an endless list of singers like Rosario on the song "I know I'll love you", rapper Haze in "The Fence Of the death ", Juan Gabriel or Luis Fonsi.

He also accepted Guillermo Fesser's challenge of versioning "Gwendolyne" by Julio Iglesias for his film "Candida".
