The mayor declared "neighbors of San Javier" the new students of the AGA in his traditional visit to the City Council (13/11/2017)

The newly admitted students in the General Air Academy accompanied by the colonel director of the AGA, Miguel Ivorra Ruiz, made today their traditional institutional visit to San Javier that began at the City Hall where they were received by the mayor, José Miguel Luengo.

Later they visited the church of San Francisco Javier, where they made an offering to the Patron, and other municipal facilities such as the Museum and the Sports Center.

Mayor José Miguel Luengo, accompanied by the municipal corporation, addressed the 135 new students in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall, among which there are four belonging to the Armed Forces of the United States participating in an exchange program, to declare them "neighbors of San Javier" after a brief historical presentation of the municipality.

The colonel director of the AGA, Miguel Ivorra later took the floor to highlight the "endearing" relationship that since its creation in 1943 has maintained the AGA and the municipality of San Javier of which he highlighted "the warm welcome that since then until now He has shown his people. "

The head of the AGA illustrated the new students about the history of "a close relationship that has been demonstrated in good times as well as bad ones".

The cadet Carlos Sanchez, number one of the current promotion of future officers of the Air Force, was commissioned to deliver to the Mayor a gift and to thank on behalf of his companions "the warm welcome that San Javier has given us".

The gift was reciprocated by the mayor who delivered a plaque commemorating the visit to Colonel Miguel Ivorra.

The new students of the AGA make up the number 73 promotion of the military education center, which next year will celebrate its 75th anniversary, and where they will mostly complete five years of study to become officers.

Other students will be in the AGA one or two years depending on the Body and specialty to which they belong.
