Vicente Sicilia, a resident of San Javier who for years was the manager of SAT San Cayetano, opened last night the patron saint festivities of San Javier with a proclamation in which he began highlighting the "warm welcome" that the local residents gave him when he 30 years old he came to stay with his family.
From the balcony of the City Hall, accompanied by the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, the councilman of Fiestas, Pedro López and the candidates for queens and bridesmaids of the festivities went to the festive rocks that filled the square of Spain to which he encouraged to continue making big parties whose evolution highlighted "from that first barrack that installed in the Town Hall Square the group of Choirs and Dances" to the present day in which the new venue that opens this year will host a total of 29 clubs.
Sicilia harangued the festeras clubs that repeated with him "alive" to the parties for which he came to ask for the declaration of Regional Tourist Interest.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo gave him a gift in the form of a Latin sailboat as a reminder of a proclamation that ended, as usual, with the launch by the crier of a series of rockets that explode or not depending on whether they are in favor or against any cause.
After the inauguration of the festivities with the reading of the proclamation from the balcony of the City Hall and the party that since mid-afternoon starred the commission of parties with a bar with tapas and drink at one euro each, the night ended with music and a crowd charamita at midnight through the streets of the town.
Tonight will take place the gala of election of queen and young ladies of honor and tomorrow afternoon the one of the queens and children ladies.
Both will take place in the tent of the new festive venue, which will officially open next Friday with the opening of barracks and the appointment of the Peasant, Sailor and Pirate of the Year.
