Students of the mixed Employment and Training program are involved with school gardens (07/02/2018)

The councilman of Agriculture, Sergio Martinez today stressed the importance of school gardens "so that children become familiar with agriculture, a sector so important in the municipality," during his visit to the school garden of the CEIP "Joaquin Carrion" to know the work developed in the gardens by the students of the mixed Employment-Training Program for the Promotion of Cultural, Youth and Children's Activities.

The students of the program, which includes training and work practice for a year, visit some of the school gardens in the municipality where they work with the youngest children throughout the process of plant growth, from the planting of the seed, their care with water and ecological fertilizer, removal of weeds, and harvesting of plants.

The school garden sessions also serve, as the teachers recognized, so that the children, through practice, advance in their knowledge of Natural Sciences.

The students of the mixed program of Employment-Training collaborate throughout the year performing different functions with the departments of Social Services, Culture, Youth, Sports and even Parks and Gardens with different actions of dynamisation.
