The Carnival floods Santiago de la Ribera during the weekend (16/02/2018)

The carnival choreography contest with the participation of 11 comparsas opens tonight an intense weekend of carnival in Santiago de la Ribera that tomorrow Saturday is delivered to the party with a Pasabares from 12 o'clock and a carnival afternoon from 4pm

At 10pm the date will be at the carnival tent with Cabaret Night, a show that mixes cabaret, circus, music, masks and a lot of sparkle that will give way to a huge costume party.

The great carnival parade in which is expected to participate about 50 comparsas with more than 2000 people on Sunday afternoon is pending the weather forecast by rain warning for that day in which the Carnival is dismissed for this year.

Tomorrow, Saturday, with a tighter forecast of the time, the comparsas commission and the City Council will make a decision on whether or not to leave the parade as scheduled.

The parade, which is scheduled to leave at 4pm, will go through Sandoval avenue and Mar Menor avenue before ending a party in the tent where the prizes will be awarded to the best visiting troupes.

The burning of the fault with the seahorse, mascot of the riverside carnival, will put the final point.

The parade will have areas of numbered chairs that have been put up for sale, on Sandoval avenue and Mar Menor avenue, in the section that goes from the Trabuco restaurant to the Los Pescadores neighborhood.

Part of the collection for the sale of chairs, which will also take place on the afternoon of the parade, will go to the Fundamifp Residence.

The Carnival of Santiago de la Ribera, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary, started last weekend with the election of Queens of Carnival, this year's title of Judith Pardo of the comparsa "Rio", and the girl Chloe Cantón de the comparsa "Those who were missing".

A children's carnival party, another of associations, and a contest of chirigotas completed since last Tuesday the Carnival program that includes the commemorative exhibition "30 years of Carnival", which can be visited at the Barnuevo House until next February 27 .
