The plenary session this morning has passed with the votes of the government team and an independent group planning agreement with the Institute for accommodation of the Armed Forces, INVIFAS to solve the situation of the colony Ruiz de Alda, known as the City of Air and owned by the Ministry of Defence.
Through this agreement, approve an amendment to the subsidiary regulations to leave the colony in its present configuration, an urbanization project to upgrade urban services of the colony with more than 50 years, and a subdivision to allow the neighbors access to their homes after the end of the process and the Ministry proceed with the sale of homes.
The agreed text provides that the INVIFAS assume the development costs which consist of pipe sewer, electricity, drinking water and public lighting, and assign to the Town Hall roads, green areas and parcels of equipment.
From that moment the military colony will be integrated in the urban municipality.
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia said he is "amazing vote against the popular party in such an important issue like this and that the City has so many years trying to give a solution beneficial to all residents of San Javier."
Pepa García added that "it is difficult to understand the reasons for this decision and how will you explain to the residents of the City of Air".
