The Department of Equality convened yesterday to teachers, parents of pupils in nursery and primary schools in the municipality to inform them about the "Sowing Equality, grows in value," which will take place in all schools and that is the planting a seed for each child who will take responsibility for their growth.
The process of planting and seed will be used to influence the education of children in settings related to the feelings and emotions, hence the importance of active collaboration of both the faculty and families.
The Councillor for Equality, Celia Martinez stressed the importance of establishing a collaborative three-way to develop this or any other program aimed at educating children on equality and preventing violence.
Juana Fuentes, a psychologist at CAVI, Centre of Services for Women Victims of Violence, San Javier, who coordinates the program "Sow equality grows in value," recalled that equality must be understood as an emotional process, not only in the distribution household chores.
Equality and violence prevention are the goals of this program from the CAVI devised in collaboration with the Department of Equality, during the last International Day against Gender Violence.
At the first appointment with teachers and parents addressed the issue of gender roles through toys, taking the approach of Christmas.
