The dance comes to the Festival with the Spanish Ballet of Murcia and her show "Poker Flamenco" (05/08/2009)

The first of two dance performances scheduled in this year's Festival can be seen Thursday with the last show of the Spanish Ballet of Murcia "Poker Flamenco", choreographed by director of National Ballet of Spain, José Antonio as a choreographer, music Carlos Piñana and scenery of Angel Haro, a sleek form that wraps the original idea of the show signing Matilde Rubio director of the company along with her sister Carmen.

With a nuanced flamenco style, the show is a fantasy in eight movements "that makes the viewer think about how in life influences the distribution of luck, talent and willingness of each to try to use them," just as defined by Matilde Rubio.

José Antonio was delighted to accept the order of the sisters Rubio to mount the choreography of "Poker Flamenco" described as "a dance in which there are moments of all kinds: exciting, vigorous, rapid, holidays, rested.

In "Poker Flamenco is time for everything as in life," says the director of the National Ballet of Spain, which has left its mark on this show of veteran Murcia company with 24 years of history.

A dance troupe of twelve dancers clothed in the first dancers Beatriz Arce, and Stephanie Baron, the lead singer and Fran Velasco Ana Machuca, principal dancer of the National Ballet as guest artist.

Carlos Piñana who has composed the music will lead the live guitar sounds with the voice of his brother Curro Piñana also accompanied by violin, piano, bass, flutes, percussion and clapping.

The eight scenes of the show allude to the game of poker as a metaphor for life: the deck, luck, two pairs, the joker, full, bluffing, poker straight flush, expressed by farrucas, bulerias, flamenco footwork, Guajira, and tangos, with the nuances introduced by José Antonio and part of the scenery of the artist Angel Haro.

The company's Carmen and Matilde Rubio Spanish Ballet of Murcia "has taken his shows to the most prestigious festivals around the world, like last year when they participated in the V Biennale Arts Festival in China, where they toured or the International Festival of Dance in Havana, Cuba, where successes have been repeated in several editions, the last one, also last year.
