The 49th International Festival of Theater, Music and Dance of San Javier has organized a workshop of interpretation and body creation under the title "I am what I am" taught by the director, actor and dancer, Alberto Velasco on 11 and 12 August , in the theater of the cultural center "Prince of Asturias", of Santiago de la Ribera.
The aim of the workshop is to find and strengthen the actor's creativity as an interpreter through body expression and stage movement as an instrument to create a character.
The course will focus on the one hand on research and awareness of the body and everything that intervenes in it and on the other, in creation without censorship, trying to apply the knowledge of the body as an interpreter in the piece and its message.
The course, which will be taught in the morning from 10am to 2pm, is aimed at actors and actresses, dancers, students of Dramatic Art and Dance, and people related to the world of movement and body expression.
The registration fee, whose term has not yet been opened, will be 80 euros.
Alberto Velasco won the 2016 Max Award for best revelation show with "Danzad malditos" that he produced and directed with his own company Malditos Compañía founded in 2015, and with which he spent two seasons in the Slaughterhouse of Madrid.
Other of his works are "El amor brujo" by Manuel de Falla, for the New Spanish Ballet, and "Dance to Death" for the Grec Festival of Barcelona.
Velasco has received the prize for best show at the International Festival of Theater and Art of Calle de Valladolidad with "Vaca" in 2008, and with "Madimoselle Monarquía" in 2010.
