The general director of Energy and Industrial and Mining Activity, Esther Marín presented to the entrepreneurs of San Javier the new call for aid launched by the Ministry of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment for the promotion of energy efficiency and use of renewable energies that can reach up to 70 percent of the investment needed in the case of small businesses.
The call for the subsidy that is produced for the third consecutive year, and which will be renewed until 2020, aims to help improve the competitiveness of companies, through energy saving while trying to contribute to the fight against climate change , framed in the regional Energy Plan, explained the general director who was accompanied by the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo in the presentation held this morning in the auditorium of the City of San Javier.
José Miguel Luengo stressed the importance of this type of action and pointed to the example of the City of San Javier where on May 4 the deadline for offers for the awarding of "the most important action in its history in energy matters" with a investment of 5 million euros for the renovation of the public lighting of the municipality.
Luengo explained that this action will achieve savings of more than 400,000 euros a year, in addition to avoiding the emission of 816 tons of C02 annually, which is equivalent to the benefits that would be achieved by planting more than 20,000 trees.
The general director of Energy, Esther Marin explained that this year the aid amounts to 4.5 million euros, 2.5 for the improvement of energy efficiency and 2 for renewable energy, subsidized by 80 percent with European funds and the 20 percent for the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The deadline to apply for grants, which can not be directed to previously made investments, ends on May 16 and will be made by accessing the unique electronic record in the Community Electronic Headquarters.
The aid is directed to the realization of energy audits;
renovation of equipment and facilities;
improvement of energy efficiency in the production process, and in the use of renewable energies.
Depending on each case, and depending on whether it is a small, medium or large company, the maximum amount to be received will vary with a minimum of 30 percent and a maximum of 70 percent of the total cost of the investment to be made.
The Chief of the Planning Service of the General Directorate of Energy and Industrial and Mining Activity, Joaquín Abenza, intervened to clarify the technical novelties in the completion of the telematic applications that will be the instrument to be assessed for the final adjudication of the aid, depending on the score obtained for each request.
In the current call it is expected to receive some 1,500 applications for aid, which will eventually benefit some 800 companies.
The general director Esther Marín explained that with the subsidized investments in last year's call, energy savings equivalent to the approximate annual consumption of 4,555 homes and a savings in C02 emissions of 14,712 tons equivalent to the C02 captured by 485,000 trees during a year were achieved .
