"We all win by encouraging recycling, from the neighbor to local commerce," says Councilwoman María José García
Ciudadanos has made San Javier take a new step in favor of sustainability, recycling and the preservation of the environment.
The training has been unanimously approved its proposal to encourage the selective collection and recycling of waste, which will focus on the first time in the so-called 'reverse vending': "It is a type of recycling with incentives for neighbors that is developing with success throughout Europe ", highlighted the councilor María José García.
"We want to install packaging storage machines, the same appearance as vending vending machines, where the person depositing these containers is getting an incentive," says the orange mayor.
These incentives translate into discounts that can be applied preferentially in local businesses or in cash for recycling, especially focused on plastic, metal and brick type containers.
"The idea is that we all win recycling, from the neighbor to the municipality itself and even local commerce," said Garcia, who believes that this initiative "will significantly reduce the volume of garbage in the environment, cleaning streets, parks and public places and will improve the protection of biodiversity, key also to turn the general European environmental strategy for 2020 into reality ", concluded the orange councilor.
