The accidental mayor Teresa Foncuberta received today at the City Council a group of 22 French students who are in language exchange with students of the IES "Mar Menor", who welcomed them wishing them a happy and fruitful experience in the municipality.
The French young people, who study at the Lyceé Alphonse Daudet, of Nimes, arrived yesterday at San Javier where they will remain until next May 25 with the double objective of improving their skills with the language as well as knowing the Spanish culture and customs, explained Encarna Palacios, coordinator of the bilingual section of the IES "Mar Menor".
The French students, who study equivalent to 4th of ESO, complete the exchange after the students of the "IES Mar Menor" visited Nimes last March, housed in both cases, by their respective families.
During their stay in San Javier, French students, who have been accompanied by their two Spanish teachers, will visit different points of interest of the municipality and the Region of Murcia.
The IES "Mar Menor", makes this type of exchanges for 10 years, although this is the first one that does it with the Alphonse Daudet institute.
During the reception in which also participated the mayor Carlos Albaladejo, Teresa Foncuberta encouraged the institutes of the municipality, which also make international exchanges, to continue and deepen this type of enriching actions both academically and personally.
