The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the director of the International University of the Sea, Mercedes Bernabé presented today at the City Hall of San Javier the summer courses that will take place from July 6 to September 23 at the San Javier, in an act that was attended by the Councilor for Education, Catalina Perez, the Vice Chancellor of the School of Sports Sciences, San Javier, Manuel Gomez and the directors of the courses to be taught in the municipality.
The "International High Performance Basketball Course" will be given for the eighth consecutive year from July 6 to 8.
José Margineda, who directs the course with Juan Carlos García and Antonio Pérez announced the continuity of the format of the course that celebrates its eighth edition with an average of 100 students in each edition.
Margineda announced the presence this year of Ana Montañana, trainer ACB, and showed his desire to have a greater female presence in this practical theoretical course that joins names of active sports with theorists.
The novelty of this year is the "II International Conference of dance and the sea", on July 18 and 22, in line with the intention to create a Dance Degree in the Sports Science Faculty of San Javier .
Its director, Elena Conesa, explained that the course will work as an introduction to different types of dance and percussion from the educational, therapeutic and social aspects of dance.
The course, open to all types of audiences that want to introduce themselves in dance, will have personalities with national experience and Conservatory professors.
The "XVII Course in Military and Aeronautical Culture, Catastrophe and Emergency Management" will also be held in July at the General Air Academy through the Mare Nostrum Campus.
The course "Educate, create and heal through stories" will repeat, from September 3 to 7, the success of the last six editions in which it has had an average of 80 students from inside and outside of Spain.
Its director, María Valverde explained that the course is composed of a theoretical base and practical workshops in which students will learn to use stories in educational and therapeutic contexts.
Another novelty this year will be the course "Latest fitness trends in training", from September 20 to 23, in which one of its directors explained, Antonio Cejudo intends to offer the theoretical and practical training update on the latest trends in fitness , both for professionals and anyone interested.
The director of the International University of the Sea, Mercedes Bernabé thanked the collaboration of the City of San Javier since the first agreement was signed in 2002, not only hosting courses, but is permanent headquarters of UNIMAR, with other activities throughout the year , in addition to university headquarters with the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
Bernabé noted that UNIMAR offers more than 50 training actions with which it aims to generate a forum for debate of ideas and knowledge, from the opening to society.
The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo pointed out the commitment of the City of San Javier with the International University of the Sea, and recalled that it was one of the first municipalities to join.
Luengo highlighted the university vocation of San Javier that hosts the University Center of Defense, in the AGA, and the Faculty of Sports Sciences in the UMU Campus in San Javier for which the City of San Javier is supporting the demand for new degrees.
The mayor of San Javier stressed the suitability of the subject matter of the courses taught in San Javier and the opportunity they provide to publicize the municipality during the summer to their students.
