The Department of the Environment has taken the message "outside plastics" to the weekly markets of San Javier and Santiago de la Ribera, on Wednesday and Thursday, with a stand in which the public has been informed about waste recycling impacting on plastic as a highly polluting element, as this year has been remembered taking advantage of the celebration of the World Environment Day that was held under the slogan "No contamination by plastics".
The council took the opportunity to conduct a survey among the population on their customs in relation to recycling and detect problems or needs to try to correct them.
The public could also participate in a small game in which they had to match different waste in their specific container, with the gift of an apron as a prize.
