The Bank of Time bid farewell to the course with the hundreds of volunteers who have participated during the last months, either in the workshops, as monitors or students, as well as in the social tasks of volunteering, in a massive gathering held last Sunday in the center civic "Prince of Asturias", Santiago de la Ribera.
The Councilor for Volunteering, Catalina Pérez thanked the volunteers who work "giving your time to others in an altruistic way" as well as their "involvement in the social life of the municipality and in helping people in need."
The meeting organized by the Department of Volunteering with the participation of the volunteers themselves, who staged several actions, symbolically closed the course in which they have offered a total of 45 courses, taught and attended only by volunteers from the Bank of Time.
Likewise, the volunteers have also carried out school reinforcement work for children, Spanish classes for Maghrebi women, and they have visited and accompanied elderly or sick people both at home and in the hospital.
In addition to collaborating in mass events such as the anniversary of the AGA in organizing work, or with the Municipal School of Family, volunteers have also taken care of children of battered women, and have read people who can not do them by themselves, between many other tasks such as the bibliohospital in collaboration with the library of San Javier.
