The Plenary Session of the City Council of San Javier today unanimously approved by all the municipal political groups two applications for a bonus in 50 percent of the full amount of the Property Tax 2017 for the hotels Abohera and El Marino, Santiago de La Ribera, to open throughout the year.
The agreement adopted today by the Plenary Session declares the special interest of the economic activity developed by both establishments to remain open throughout the year and thus promote employment, according to what is collected in this regard by the Tax Ordinance regulating the Property Tax Estate.
The Councilor for Finance Carlos Albaladejo said that these measures are framed in "the lowering of the tax burden undertaken by the City as the suspension of the rate of garbage and lowering of the IBI, and others aimed at the business sector in order to encourage actions that promote the economic, hotel and tourist activity of the municipality ".
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo encouraged other establishments to follow the example of these two hotels in Santiago de la Ribera, thus being able to benefit from the aid put in place by the City Council in that sense.
December 3 and July 25, local festivities in 2019

Motion for the regional government to co-finance with City Councils the expenses derived from the new Law of Protection and Defense of the Animals of Company
The Plenary approved a motion presented by the Socialist group and supported by the rest of the municipal political groups, in which the regional government is urged to prepare a budget item destined to co-finance the expenses derived from the new Law of Protection and Defense of the Animals of company in the Region of Murcia with the Town Councils.
The motion includes the request to the regional government so that in the development of the regulations of the aforementioned Law, the possibility of redistributing the competency areas currently delegated in the municipalities is evaluated, in order to give an effective compliance to the Law.
Prize of the Jazz Festival of San Javier 2018 to Chick Corea
The plenary session held today also gave its approval, unanimously, to the award of the Prize of the XXI International Jazz Festival of San Javier to the American pianist and composer Chick Corea, which will be given to him after the concert he will offer at Jazz San Javier on the 28th of July.
The director of the Festival, Alberto Nieto explained that beyond the 20 Grammys awards, the Hall of Fame or the NEA Jazz Master, with which Chick Corea, one of the initiators of jazz fusion, has been professionally recognized, the Festival wants to recognize with this award the bond between Chick Corea and Spain, both emotionally and professionally.
With Spanish ancestors, Chick Corea has been very closely linked to Spain and its music.
He was a close friend of Paco de Lucía, with whom he played on multiple occasions.
His album "My Spanish Heart" has been one of the most important of his career, said Nieto who recalled the tribute "Our Spanish Heart" that gave Jazz San Javier where 19 years ago played with his group "Origin", one of the formations formed by Chick Corea throughout his career.
The plenary session approved two administrative matters, one of them relating to the extension, for one year, of the exploitation and management contract of the Almansa Park Civic Center cafeteria, and another one related to urban planning related to the suspension of a maximum term of resolution of a file, until the receipt of an opinion requested to the Legal Council of the Region of Murcia, without the suspension may exceed a period of three months.
