The Australian pianist and singer Sarah McKenzie returns to Jazz San Javier, where we can enjoy the meteoric career of this young Australian girl of 28 years, considered one of the new great values ​​of international jazz.
Formed in the United States and settled in Paris, Sarah McKenzie, who has been compared to Diana Krall, has just released her fourth album "Paris in the rain" with which she confirms the talent she already showed in 2011 with her album " Do not Tempt Me. "
"Paris in the rain" is her second album with the legendary record label Impulse, in which she returns to the production of Brian Bacchus, producer of Liz Wright and Norah Jones, contributing her personal style to classic jazz titles with themes own as "Paris in the rain" that gives name to the disc.
McKenzie manages to give a fresh and modern air to the sound from the 50 'popularized by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald or Nat King Kole to which he pays tribute to the song "Onward and Upward", in a disc that shows his most intimate side with songs like "Triste" by Antonio Carlos Jobim, among others.
Sarah McKenzie, who already captivated with her first two titles in Australia, got a scholarship at the Umbria Festival to complete her studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she signed the Impulse label initiating an international career that seems unstoppable.

The second part of the night will be dedicated to the legendary British group Nine Below Zero, founded in London in 1977, under the influence of Chicago Blues, which after going through different stages was reinvented in 2015 introducing new instruments such as trumpet, saxophone, a new section of keyboards and a singer.
Nine Below Zero Big Band was presented in 2016 at the Glastonbury Festival and now they do it with eight musicians on stage at Jazz San Javier to present their new album "13 Shades of Blue", with own versions of little-known Blues songs and some concessions al Soul
The group, led by Dennis Greaves on guitar and vocals, and Mark Feltham on the harmonica and vocals, the only two original components of the formation that remain in the same, was unveiled in the first half of the 80 ' from his legendary live album "Live at the Marquee" and after a few years of success he disbanded to return on the occasion of his 10th anniversary.
Later, the band created their own record label, Zed Records with which they recorded in 2009 the acclaimed "It's never too late" that was welcomed with open arms by its army of followers around the world.
His 35th anniversary tour with The Stranglers was fuel for this fireproof group, which 40 years after its formation continues to fall in love with the audience.
