A total of 45 families of the municipality have requested full gratuity in the enrollment of the Summer Schools organized by the Department of Social Services of the City of San Javier receiving an aid for cases in which the father and mother work or any of them in case of single parenthood, as reported today by the councilor Estíbaliz Masegosa who has encouraged other families who are in the same situation to request the zero cost of the registration of their children in the schools.
The mayor of Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa, who visited this morning the CEIP Summer School "Joaquin Carrion" of San Javier, thanked the grant of 11,000 euros co-financed by the European Social Fund and received through the General Directorate of Women, of the Ministry of Family and Equality, "which allows us to go a step further in facilitating family and work-life balance, which is the main objective of the Summer Schools that have 273 enrollments".
The Summer School of the "Joaquín Carrión" school is one of the three schools that together with those of the "El Mirador" and "Fulgencio Ruiz" schools operate in the municipality during the months of July and August from 9 am to 2 pm, or 8 to 13 including the morning time and the dining service, for children from 3 to 12 years old.
Masegosa recognized the work carried out by the XO association, which manages the schools served by seven monitors, with the support of interns and volunteers from Banco del Tiempo.
Noelia Giménez, instructor at the school "Joaquín Carrión", explained that this year the school has been entitled "Once upon a time" with literature as a thread and three blocks of work: characters and stories;
comics and superheroes, and poetry.
Emotions and values ​​are the formative axis of playful activities such as crafts, musical expression, interpretation, cooking, water activities, "with which we intend that children enjoy and have fun."
A two-day trip to the beach, and small festivals in which all the children participate, complete the program.
Mariano Yepes, a volunteer of the Banco del Tiempo who began his collaboration with the Summer Schools today, was delighted after helping to fill the buckets of water with which the children made large soap bubbles, and he encouraged other volunteers to join this "so beautiful" experience.
He was also satisfied with the experience Mariano Visedo, Head of Studies of the center that has given the facilities to host the Summer School.
