The Plenary of the City of San Javier today approved the Municipal General Budget for 2019 amounting to 47,270,696 euros, which is 2.8 million euros more than in the previous year, with the support of the Popular group, in the government, Citizens-C's group and non-ascribed councilor, Santos Amor, and the vote against the Socialist group and Win San Javier.
The councilman of Finance Carlos Albaladejo said that it is the "best possible budget" and stressed its "marked social character" for the maintenance and increase of items in Social Services, Education and Culture, which increases all its items.
Albaladejo pointed to the fact that the budget experienced a rise of 2.8 million despite the maintenance of the "historical fall in taxes at the City Council approved in 2016 and the waiver of collecting the garbage tax also in 2019."
The 2019 budget that allocates 1.9 million to investments and 21 million in current expenses, which includes new and better contracts in terms of security, first aid, ambulances and parks and gardens, plans to reduce the debt from 13 to 11.2 million at the end of 2019. Revenue to meet the improvement in services provided for investments and expenses, highlights the income of 2 million euros agreed with Hidrogea for the delay in the payment of the annual complementary fee and the corresponding 233,000 for the Same reason to 2019.
The mayor of the Treasury highlighted "the enrichment" of the municipal accounts with the proposals of the municipal political groups.
Before the Plenary, the mayor, José Miguel Luengo appeared with the spokesman of the group Citizens-C's, Antonio Murcia and later with the non-attached councilor, Santos Amor, to announce the agreement with which the government team had arrived with both groups "They have added and enriched the Budget with coherent and realistic proposals," said Luengo thanked the negotiating effort of all parties.
Antonio Murcia showed his satisfaction "because they have accepted the 18 proposals of Citizens" among which is the increase of investments in educational centers, the implementation of motions not executed as the creation of the Defender of the Disabled or the drive of the car electric, the start-up of a surveillance system in the sports center that increases security, or the start-up of a congress office in the municipality.
The improvement and extension of bike lanes, bus stops, transport scholarships, construction of dog parks in El Mirador, Roda and La Manga, the improvement of paving streets or the creation of neighborhood sports tracks, are other of the proposals included in the budget by Citizens.
In the same way, the non-attached councilor, Santos Amor, highlighted his contribution to the Budget focused on the maintenance of lower taxes, and social issues in terms of home care for dependents, evictions, poverty or cost 0 of water service and light for economically vulnerable people.
As Citizens, it demands the regional financing of the "improper expenses" assumed by the City Council such as the maintenance of the storm tanks or the Conservatory, as well as the extension of the bike path, and more paving in the streets of the municipality.
It also includes several investments in El Mirador as an improvement of public roads and roads, the completion of the Medical Center, solve problems of waterlogging on the road of Los Pinos, and improve the sports infrastructure of the ravine, among others.
Regarding the investments foreseen in the General Budget for 2019 approved today, the construction of a football field in Santiago de la Ribera, a plaza in Pozo Aledo, an energy efficiency plan, remodeling of the Almansa Park, and construction of a theater stand out. , with financing of the EDUSI Strategy, the renovation of the Spanish Aviation Avenue, the exhibition hall of the Municipal Museum, paving or the improvement of the telematic management in the Town Hall, among others.
The mayor of the Treasury also recalled the investments of the Autonomous Region of Murcia planned for 2019 as well as 3 million euros, the surplus of 2017 and the Plan of Works and Services that will be used mainly in the replacement of urban services and paving throughout the municipality as explained by the Councilor for Public Services, María Dolores Martínez who announced the start of all these works at the beginning of the year.
In the chapter of expenses, endowed with 21 million euros, several contracts are created and improved such as the maintenance of parks and gardens, for 700,000 euros, the General Security that includes the ambulance service, for 1.1 million and the Lifeguard and beach safety for 1.2 million euros.
The Personal chapter increases by 1 million, to 19.8 to face the professional career and work improvements, such as the return to 35 hours per week for public employees.
