The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo visited today the headquarters of the Association of Friends and Family of Alzheimer's patients of Cartagena and Region, AFAL, located in the Municipal Center for the Elderly, Santiago de la Ribera, on the occasion of the placement of the plaque that accredits the sanitary registry with which the Regional Administration recognizes the public utility of the service that AFAL offers in the municipality.
The mayor of San Javier who was accompanied by the Councilor for Social Services, Estibaliza Masegosa was commissioned together with the president of AFAL Cartagena and Region, María José Regueiro to place the plaque at the entrance of the building where the Association offers its services from its seat ceded by the City of San Javier.
Luengo thanked and congratulated those responsible for AFAL "for the work that you have been doing for three years in our municipality to improve the quality of life of both the sick and their families and caregivers."
The president of AFAL Cartagena and Region, María José Regueiro pointed out that the sanitary registry represents another step in the work of the Association "that will allow us to continue progressing with new projects".
The Association that aims to get a day residence, serves more than 25 people affected by the disease, together with their families, at its headquarters in Santiago de la Ribera, where it has qualified staff for their physiotherapy and cognitive stimulation services and physics, among others.
