The young art festival "Imagina San Javier 2019" has opened the deadline for submission of artistic projects for its next edition to be held from April 11 to 14.
Artists and artistic collectives, national or international, may present their proposals in any expression of contemporary art until next February 26.
The selected works, which will be announced on March 7, will be produced by the Festival and exhibited in different locations, mostly external, during the four days that the Festival will last.
Councilor for Youth, Estibalia Masegosa today presented the call "Imagina San Javier 2019" accompanied by the new artistic director of the Festival, Toni Peña, which highlighted his long experience in musical and cultural management and his work in some of the festivals most important in the Region.
Toni Peña arrives at Imagina San Javier willing that the Festival "continue to grow and be a benchmark" supported by a multidisciplinary team for artistic production and the organization of the Festival that celebrates 16 editions.
Masegosa thanked the time and dedication of the previous team, Cristina Franco, Juanjo and Alberto García, who in the last edition took care of the technical production and who attended the event in which the catalog of the latest edition was also presented "Imagina San Javier 2018 "that collects, with photographs by Carlos Nicolás, the projects that could be seen last year, accompanied by a brief presentation text for each one of them.
The catalog is available through the website of the Festival and the Department of Youth.
The "Imagina San Javier" Festival, whose 2019 poster is the work of Cayetano Gutiérrez, has the dual objective of serving as a showcase for new artists through the production and exhibition of works, and filling the streets and public spaces of contemporary art with works that go out to meet the public breaking the urban routine and making the viewer reflect.
The artistic proposals, thematic and free artistic discipline, must be submitted by e-amil in proyectos@imagina.sanjavier.es and by mail or by hand in the Department of Youth, Avenida Aviación Española, 12 30730 San Javier, Murcia.
