The University of Murcia has installed LED luminaires on the exterior of the Faculty of Sport Sciences to illuminate the sports courts and the parking lot that the teaching institution has on the campus of San Javier.
These are low-energy luminaries that come from the Health Sciences campus, where they were placed provisionally until the final lighting of the urbanization was made.
In addition, following the actions to improve energy efficiency, within the Sports Science faculty have also installed 413 low-energy lights.
According to a report from the Electricity and Electronics Section of the UMU, the replacement of all these luminaires will mean an approximate saving of 980 euros per year in light consumption.
These actions are part of the commitment of the institution to the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations, specifically with number 7 'Affordable and non-polluting energy' and number 13 'Action for Climate'.
