La Barraca de Federico, in San Pedro del Pinatar, opens tomorrow, May 10, the contest phase of the III "Francisco Rubio" Amateur Theater Competition, in San Javier with the play "El unicornio roto", adaptation of "El zoo de cristal ", by Tennesse Williams, directed by Enrique Fuster.
The performance, which can be seen in the theater of the center "Prince of Asturias", Santiago de la Ribera at 9pm, shows, with biographical tints, a middle class family, under the shadow of a missing father and a mother authoritarian and failed that is projected in their children.
The Contest, which takes place during the next two weekends, from Friday to Sunday until May 19, will host next Saturday, May 12, the Yecla group, Caligae, which will represent the comedy of the Latin author Plauto "Host", a 8:00 p.m.
Out of competition, on Sunday August 12 will arrive "The Meeting", written and directed by Leonor Benitez, which brings together six women who speak of the divine and human in a text conceived, according to its author, to entertain and amuse the public .
The program to contest the contest will resume on Friday, May 17 at 9:00 pm with Teatro del Matadero, Murcia, which will represent "El landa de seis caballos", by Víctor Ruiz Iriarte, which presents a group of extemporaneous elders who live naturally in his own world.
On Saturday, May 18 at 8:00 pm, "Olivia y Ana" will be shown, an adaptation of Herbert Morote's work "Olivia y Eugenio", with the Granada group Ofecum Teatro.
The play, directed by Antonio Morell and starring Mila Estepa and Elena Parras, addresses the moving relationship of a mother with her daughter, a young woman with Down syndrome, which is her main support.
On Sunday, May 19, at 7:00 pm, the award ceremony will take place that will recognize the Best Work, Best Director, Best Actor-Actress and Best Supporting Actor-Actress.
Next, "BEATG.Un beat different" will be performed with direction and dramaturgy by Mario Hernández and design and scenic space of the ribereña based in Madrid, Isis de Coura.
The work, premiered successfully in Matadero Madrid, recovers the women who created the so-called Beat generation that were silenced by the current society in the United States.
The venue of the Contest is the theater of the "Prince of Asturias" center of Santiago de la Ribera.
Access to all works is free with prior invitation to be collected in the Department of Culture, the City of San Javier.
The two invited works, "La Réunion" and "BEATG, a different beat" have already exhausted the available invitations.
The Department of Culture will have 50 additional seats, in both cases, for which only the invitation will be delivered at the theater box office, before the start of the performance.
