The Mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Sports, Estíbaliz Masegosa received today at the Town Hall the members of the beach soccer team AIS Playas de San Javier hours before leaving for Portugal where they will play the Women's Euro Winners Cup, a annual tournament that brings together champions clubs of the European leagues.
The AIS Playas de San Javier, which was the third classified in the same championship last year, held in Nazareth, Portugal, has been reinforced with new players to try to improve the historical result of beach soccer achieved in the last edition of the championship.
The team, chaired by Francisco Javier Inglés and Juan Francisco Montesinos, this year has five players from the Spanish team, a Mexican player and two others from the English team that for days are concentrated in the cabins of the municipal sports center of San Javier to be able to train on the beach.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo wished them "the greatest success" and praised the effort of the team and the delivery of their players to continue at the top of beach soccer taking the name of the municipality on their trips both inside and outside Spain .
The AIS Playas de San Javier will play its first match in the Euro Winners Cup next Monday.
