The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Social Rights, Estibalia Masegosa met this morning with the president of the Association of relatives of people with mental illness and generalized disorder of child and adolescent development in the Mar Menor region ( AFEMAR), Juana Romero, and José Madrid, member of the board, who have shown them the projects that the Association intends to develop in the coming months.
From AFEMAR consider that the implementation of a Social Club, which offers a type of alternative and active leisure during the weekends would be beneficial for its users as well as the activity that can generate in an urban garden.
Likewise, the creation of a series of workshops directed specifically to women has been proposed, since according to what they said in the Mar Menor region, about 4,000 women suffer some kind of disorder related to mental health.
The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo reiterated the support of the City of San Javier to the Association, which he congratulated for the work of both assistance and awareness, through the annual agreement of economic aid maintained by both institutions, and expressed the municipal will to continue cooperating with AFEMAR wherever possible.
