The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation PALAPA, an investigation to clarify the theft of abundant material from a logistics company, located in San Javier, which has resulted in the arrest of two people as alleged perpetrators of a continuing crime of theft and reception.
The investigation began last June, when the Civil Guard became aware of the theft of different logistical materials, of agricultural use, from a company located in the municipality of San Javier.
The company encrypted the losses in more than 50,000 euros.
Apparently, and since January, the warehouse of the distribution company had departed different shipments, although the accounting of these movements showed certain imbalances.
The Civil Guard gathered the necessary information, which allowed them to direct the investigation towards an employee dedicated to the transport of material (wooden pallets, plastic palots and diesel) destined to the different customers of the distributor.
The agents found out that during his working day he had made unscheduled downloads in an industrial warehouse in the industrial estate of Balsicas-Torre-Pacheco.
The investigations made below allowed to find out that the owner of this was, in addition, his son.
The result of the investigation was brought to the attention of the judicial authority, which authorized the corresponding registration.
In the interior of the ship abundant material of similar characteristics to the subtracted one was found, reason why it was intervened and, once identified, it was given back to its legitimate owner.
The PALAPA operation has culminated in the arrest of two men, 50 and 32 years old, of Spanish nationality and residents of El Pilar de la Horadada (Alicante), who are allegedly responsible for theft and receiving .
According to the investigation, it is presumed that both acted in connivance.
One of them took advantage of the transfers of merchandise to deposit them in the ship of his son.
In this way it supplied materials to the company of the latter, dedicated to the sale and repair of plastic and wood packaging.
Those arrested, the effects recovered and the proceedings ordered have been made available to the Court of Instruction of San Javier (Murcia).
