Rafael Álvarez "El Brujo", who has visited the San Javier Festival on numerous occasions, could not miss in the 50th edition he arrives with "Esquilo, birth and death of the tragedy", a show with the actor's own stamp Cordoba who is immersed in the world of Greek tragedy.
The "solo actor" controls all the secrets of oral transmission by bewitching the public with his reflective monologue and truffled cult of winks, games, anecdotes and references to the present that provoke laughter and emerge the habitual complicity of the actor with his audience.
With a symbolic scenography, in which the books "The Birth of the Tragedy" by Nietzsche and "Death of the Tragedy" by Steiner and the complete works of Euripides appear, in which he has been inspired for the assembly, illuminated by Michelangelo Camacho and with live music by Javier Alejano, the show is based on the expertise of Rafael Álvarez El Brujo to reflect on the human being and the universal values that he extracts from the tragedy "that song to life, with all that entails" , along with its great capacity to provoke the laughter of the public.
The show, conceived, written, directed and interpreted by "The Warlock" includes parallels with the present when it speaks of classical mythology and Greek myths such as Prometheus, Oedipus, and gods such as Apollo, Dionysus, as a symbol of debauchery, Hermes and Zeus or the Krishna or Vishnu Hindus, who serve to allude to today.
The Spanish political situation, the war in Syria, or Catalonia will be some of the references that throughout the show, lasting two hours with rest, appear in this new reflexive, philosophical and humorous monologue at the same time with which "The Brujo "returns to San Javier where he has always found a faithful and dedicated audience.
