The Oktoberfest returns to San Javier for the second consecutive year after the success achieved in the first edition in which some 10,000 people visited the fairgrounds of the town where, from October 3 to 6, the typical party will be recreated in The German city of Munich.
The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo today presented the event accompanied by the Councilor for Fiestas, Isidoro Miñano and Ricardo Luna, Víctor García and Isaac Miguel, members of the local club "El Cantazo", promoter of this initiative that is celebrated with A marked beneficial character.
Ricardo Luna recalled that the total collection, once the expenses are covered, will be allocated this year to Aidemar, Abamur and the Parkinson Mar Menor Association.
A total of 30 people, all of them belonging to the organizing club, will be in charge of serving the typical German sausages as well as roast chicken, hamburgers and potatoes in a menu that this year is expanded with chicken wings and pork ribs with barbecue sauce.
They will also serve the German jugs, which reach up to 1 liter, of one of the official beers of the Oktoberfest, Paulaner typical of the Bavarian area, in several of its specialties.
The authentic beer of the original Oktoberfest, of which about 7,000 liters were served last year, the setting in blue and white, the typical Bavarian attire, the live music and the tables and running banks typical of the German "biergarten" they give official status to the Oktoberfest of San Javier, Víctor García recalled.
Committed to responsible consumption, the organizers have provided a wide coverage of free buses with continuous routes so that nobody has to take their car, expanding the route that will pass through all the districts of the municipality of San Javier, including Los Narejos and Los Alcázares.
In addition, another route will make the route La Zenia, Pilar de la Horadada and San Pedro del Pinatar.
The residents of La Manga may use the ferry, whose amount will be returned to them in the currency of the fair, and the bus at the Santiago de la Ribera stop.
A free bus has also been offered if a group is formed through the La Manga festival commission.
Music is another important chapter of Oktoberfest that will celebrate its traditional barrel opening ceremony on Thursday, October 3 at 8pm.
Isaac Miguel recalled that the fair, which will open its doors continuously from 12:00 to 02: 00h, will feature a total of 13 live musical performances of various genres with concerts at 13h, 15: 30h, 18:30, 21: 00h and 11:00 p.m. on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 October.
On the last day, Sunday, October 6, the last group will ring at 3:30 p.m.
Mayor José Miguel Luengo congratulated the rock "El Cantazo" for this initiative "which has become the best Oktoberfest in the Region of Murcia" and highlighted the social sensitivity they show giving the event a charitable character.
Luengo invited residents of the municipality, the Region and the neighboring province of Alicante not to miss this second edition of the Oktoberfest "which is already part of the festive and recreational offer of the municipality."
