"Don Juan Tenorio. Dream and reality in the cemetery of San Javier" celebrates its sixth edition next Saturday, October 19, already included in the tourist guide "Route of Cemeteries of Spain" after winning, last year, a national prize for the best open-door activity in a cemetery granted by the "Adiós Cultural" magazine.

The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez who were accompanied by the Minister of Culture and Education, Esperanza Moreno and the director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, Juan Antonio Lorca, presented today at the Romea Theater in Murcia the show that was seen by 1500 people last year.

The San Javier Theater Group is responsible for giving life to the famous text of Zorrilla after the preamble that will start at 8:30 p.m. with a procession presided over by the image of the Virgen del Carmen, patron of the Good Death and the Souls that Accompanied by the Auroros Our Lady of the Rosary, from Rincon de Seca, you will tour the most beautiful corners of the cemetery.

The Councilor for Culture, David Martínez explained that thousands of candles and other lighting effects will illuminate the public in a journey full of dreamlike visions and music with the participation of the Orfeón Fernández Caballero, Coral Patnia, Coral Ars Antiqua, and different musical formations of the Conservatory from San Javier.

Martínez recalled that the Association Friends of Bethlehem of San Javier, which has been responsible for the scenery inside the cemetery, joins the more than 200 people who mobilize in the staging of the show that consists of two parts.

The first, which will begin at 8:30 p.m., consists of a sensory and physical tour of the cemetery, which acts as a time tunnel to place the spectator in the contemporary Imperial Spain of Don Juan.

Once the procession is finished, the enclosure will open next to the outer wall of the cemetery with capacity for 1500 locations where at 22:00 the representation of the text of Zorrilla will begin.

The show goes beyond a theatrical performance and becomes an experience that must be felt, said the theater director and actor who gives life to Don Juan, José Antonio Navas.

The version of the San Javier Theater Group is faithful to the original work that has been shortened and that focuses on redemption through the repentance of Don Juan.

The mayor of Culture, David Martínez recalled that it is "a cultural experience that exceeds the limits of the theatrical stage and becomes a collective rite."

Martínez stressed the religious background of the work for the search for redemption and recalled the location in a pantheon of the second part of the work that together with the Central European tradition of recovering cemeteries as cultural assets, motivate this initiative, which only finds a precedent in a cemetery in Peru, backed by a national award and by the public that has sold out the tickets available in the six editions held.

The Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo stressed the utmost respect and delicacy with which this event is addressed in the cemetery owned by the Parish of San Javier that has always given its approval.

José Miguel Luengo recalled that it is a participatory show in which more than 200 people participated and thanked him for his involvement and described it as one of the most important cultural events of the autumn in the Region of Murcia.

Luengo thanked the support to the Minister of Culture and Education, Esperanza Moreno who highlighted the position of San Javier "as a cultural reference" after ensuring his presence on October 19 infected "by the passion, affection, professionalism and effort of all "in a" unique "event.

The Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, who advanced important developments for the next edition "with a project that we are already working on and that will be another step" recalled that tickets are already on sale for 10 euros on www. festivalesanjavier.com, in the office of the Department of Culture in the City Council of San Javier, La Cierva confectionery, Santiago de la Ribera and San Javier and FNAC Murcia.
