The Plaza de España in San Javier will once again host the central track of the Challenger Villa de San Javier, one of the World Padel Tour tournaments, the professional world paddle tennis circuit, which will be held in San Javier from October 20 to 27 .
The mayor José Miguel Luengo, accompanied by the head of the organization Juan Méndez and the by the general director of Sport, Francisco Sánchez presented today the championship in which 96 male and 48 female couples will participate.
The municipal paddle tennis courts, where the presentation of the event took place with the assistance of the sponsoring companies, will host the previous phase of the Challenger Villa de San Javier together with the facilities of the Villaescusa Sport club.
The central track of the Plaza de España, which will have a grandstand of 1000 locations, will open its doors on Thursday, October 24 to host the final phase from the round of 16 until the semifinals of Saturday and the women's and men's finals to be played Sunday 27 from 10: 00h.
Juan Méndez, representative of Madison Sports Marketing, organizer of the Tournament, highlighted the uniqueness of the headquarters of San Javier, the only one located in an urban environment, which facilitates the approach to the public of paddle tennis, a sport already practiced by more than 5 million of Spaniards regularly, Méndez recalled.
In this line it has been considered to reduce the price of tickets for the central court with a payment of 20 euros to attend the entire tournament, and tickets of 5 euros for Thursday, 8 euros for Friday and 10 euros for the last days Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are now on sale.
The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo thanked the organization for the trust for the second year in San Javier "where we will enjoy the best paddle in the world in a strategic location in the urban center."
Luengo recalled that this differentiating event contributes to the projection of San Javier through an event of the World Padel Tour event that combines sports and tourism.
According to the organization, World Padel Tour tournaments attract up to 30 percent of foreign audiences, which guarantees a tourist return.
The general director of Sports, Francisco Sánchez highlighted the quality of the event and the prominence of the municipality of San Javier in sports.
Sanchez also pointed out the symbolic example of overcoming and normalizing the Championship that had to be postponed due to flooding as it was planned a few days after the torrential rains at the end of September.
Everyone present agreed on the invitation not to miss the appointment with the World Paddle Tour in San Javier, the only one that will take place this year in the Region.
