The municipality of San Javier has renewed its support, with a contribution of 6000 euros to the Association of Family Members of People with Mental Illness and generalized disorder of child and youth development of the Mar Menor (AFEMAR), by renewing a signed collaboration agreement today by the mayor José Miguel Luengo and the president of the aforementioned association, Juana Romero.
The Association of regional character, which offers its services for 11 years, currently serves about 50 users, 30 in the Day Center and 20 in the child and youth service, of which almost half come from the municipality of San Javier, recalled the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, who highlighted the work done by Afemar in both care and social awareness of mental illness.
Juana Romero thanked the municipal collaboration and recalled that next Friday, October 11, the new headquarters of the Association where the Day Center is located, which has 25 places arranged with the IMAS, is located with an open day Councilor Mariano Henarejos street, 9 of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The president of the association, Juan Romero recalled that AFEMAR also offers information and care services to family members in addition to working on social awareness about mental illness with campaigns and workshops.
Among the objectives of the agreement signed today is the realization of social actions that attend and promote the group of people with psychic disabilities as well as the maintenance of services and activities aimed at social inclusion contemplating the needs of this group and family members of the municipality of San Javier.
