The first of the four days of the Spanish Laser Radial Championship that has been held in La Manga del Mar Menor has been closed with two tests completed over three planned.
The wind has wanted to mark the differences in this competition start, with a delay of about three hours on the scheduled time, since the starting top was scheduled at 12 noon and occurred, at the end, at 3 pm with 7 knots wind on a 120º axis.
The second and final departure of the day, what was to be the second test, occurred at 16.10 hours with a wind that was decreasing in intensity.
These wind conditions have put the work of the fleet uphill in both groups, although the 'favorites' have managed to defend themselves well.
In this sense the Catalan Cristina Pujol (CN Port D'Aro) has been regular and with partial 1-3 in the blue group has managed to place first, while Jordi Lladó (RCN Palma) has had a good and a bad one.
In the first one worked 3rd place, but in the second it has fallen to 11th place.
The triumphs in these two tests of the blue ones have been for Cristina Pujol and Francisco Sánchez (RCR Santiago de la Ribera) respectively.
Among the yellow group, the favorite Martina Reino (RCN Gran Canaria) has been strong and with two good 2-3 sets it has been second.
The partial triumphs in this group have been for Adolfo Virigili (RCR Santiago de la Ribera) in the first and for Leonardo Callado (RCN Calpe) in the second.
With these results today, in this first qualifying round together with that of Thursday, October 10, the absolute general closes with Cristina Pujol in the first place with 4 points followed by Martina Reino with 5, Francisco Sánchez third with 6, identical score obtained by his club mate, Carlos Martínez, while Lara Sabina Himmes (RCN Calpe) closes the table of the top five classified with 9 points.
The calpina is the first in category SUB19.
