The Local Police of San Javier premieres uniform and new vehicles coinciding with the celebration of the feast of its patron San Gregorio Magno that took place today when the 68th anniversary of its creation is celebrated on November 11, 1951 at the City Hall of San Javier .
The commemorative events had been postponed last September 3, the feast of San Gregorio Magno, because of its proximity to the plane crash that cost the life of the AGA commander, Francico Marín.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo, accompanied by the Councilor for Security, Rubén Pérez, and various members of the Municipal Corporation, presided over the events of the day that was attended by the director of the AGA, Manuel de la Chica, the lieutenant. Civil Guard commander in the post of Santiago de la Ribera, José Caparrós, and the general director of Local Administration of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Abril, among other civil and military authorities.
Authorities and agents of the San Javier Local Police Corps attended a mass in honor of the Patron in the Church of San Javier, before presenting three motorcycles and two of the four cars with which the completeness and renewal of the Local Police fleet that has 10 vehicles including a crowded van and five motorcycles.
The opportunity was also taken to present the new uniform of the Local Police officers that is updated in the line of police uniformity of the moment incorporating ecological materials and replacing the yellow reflectors with other details in blue.
Subsequently agents, authorities and guests shared a Spanish wine in the civic center of San Javier.
Both the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Security, Rubén Pérez had words of appreciation and thanks to the daily work "that our agents do 365 days a year contributing to everyone enjoying a better, safer municipality and more comfortable, "said the mayor.
José Miguel Luengo announced that the next municipal budget will include an item for the elaboration of the project of a new Security Center "that will contribute to improve the working conditions of the Local Police" and took the opportunity to advance the General Director of Local Administration, Francisco Abril , the request that the City Council of San Javier will then send to its department to finance its construction.
