Antonio Robert, 95 years old and María Teresa González, 91 years old, were proclaimed yesterday by Grandfather and Grandmother of the Dance, during the celebration of the Elders held every year on the occasion of the patron saint festivities of San Javier.
The councilor of Festejos, Isidoro Miñano and the Councilor for Social Rights, Estíbaliz Masegosa presented a gift to the grandparents who were delighted with the tribute received.
Antonio Robert, lives happily for a few months in San Javier where he has moved from Caravaca to live with his son.
María Teresa González, who at 91 years of age attends her gymnastics classes three days a week, is Galician although she has lived in the municipality for 40 years.
The mayor of Festejos, Isidoro Miñano congratulated the honoree and everyone present for his example of life and for having starred in the recent history of San Javier with his effort and his work.
The party was attended by more than 150 elderly people who were attended by the queen and young ladies of the festivities that shared snack and dance with them throughout the afternoon.
