The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the operation 'Drogo', has broken up a criminal group, based in San Javier and neighboring towns, consisting of seven people, most of them young and allegedly engaged in theft in homes throughout the municipality of San Javier.
The proceedings began at the beginning of the year, when the Civil Guard opened an investigation aimed at clarifying the commission of several robberies with force in homes, focused on both the urban area of ​​San Javier and its districts, committed most of them during the night, facts that had caused a certain social alarm among the population.
The first researches allowed the agents to set the main line of research on a group of people of Moroccan nationality and a Spaniard, residents of San Javier and several neighboring towns.
The main illegal activity of the criminal group now dismantled was theft in homes.
Initially, the band members carefully studied the property, its accesses and possible escape routes to avoid being identified.
The thefts materialized preferably during the night to avoid being detected, although in one of them they were surprised by a dwelling person and engaged in a struggle between him and the criminals, who did not hesitate to use violence to undertake the flight.
As a result of the investigation, the Benemérita managed to locate the area of ​​action of the criminal group and fully identify all its members, both by the evidence found and after the practice of various efforts.
Once all the necessary evidence was obtained, the Civil Guard established a search device on the suspects that has culminated in recent days with the location and detention of the seven members of the criminal group as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force and theft .
After a thorough analysis of the information obtained during the investigation, the civil guards have clarified, so far, a dozen crimes of robbery and theft committed in the municipality of San Javier, not ruling out the involvement of those now arrested in more criminal facts
Entry into prison of three of those arrested
The seven detainees of Spanish and Moroccan nationality, between 23 and 42 years of age and some of them with a history of similar crimes, together with the proceedings, have been made available to the Court of Instruction of San Javier (Murcia), which has decreed the entry into prison of three of those arrested.
