The theater returns to the center "Prince of Asturias", Santiago de la Ribera with a winter cycle that was presented this morning by the Councilor for Culture David Martínez and will begin on February 7 with the comedy "Mom" Pep Antón Gómez and Jordi Sánchez, architects of the theater success “El Eunucoâ€.
The cycle includes two other works that will be held at night and another in the morning for schools, on February 21 with "El Buscón", a version that accentuates the comic tone of the Quevedo classic, with Double K Theater, "Another Quixote + â€, A twist to Don Quixote, from Cervantes, which can be seen on March 13.
Breaking the cultural seasonality and encouraging a taste for the performing arts at all ages is the objective of this cycle, said the mayor of Culture, David Martínez who referred to the first of the programmed works "Mama" as a hilarious and very comedy fun that tells the adventures of an old and sick mother and her two clumsy children, a daughter-in-law and even a Jehovah's Witness.
The work presented by Doble K Teatro bears the signature of the playwright, actor and screenwriter Jordi Sánchez, popular for his character Carlos Recio in "La que se avecina" and Pep Antón Gómez, directed by Alfredo Zamora.
The company Double K Theater will also present with the direction of Alfredo Zamora, another of his star mounts “El Buscónâ€, by Quevedo, with dramaturgy by Juan Vicente Garrigós that loads of humor and comic situations the display of verbal ingenuity that the original work implies, one of the first of the picaresque genus.
Productions Nacho Vilar presents on March 13 another classic “Otro Quijote +â€, under the vision of Juan Montoro Lara and directed by Jorge Fullana.
The work begins with Don Alonso Quijano who, knowing that someone had written a novel with his adventures, decides to dust off his armor and throw himself back into the paths to continue giving stories to write.
Both "El Buscón" and "Otro Quijote +" have been offered to schools in the area for a morning training session.
All the works will be performed in the theater of the “Prince of Asturias†center of Santiago de la Ribera at 9:00 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale from Friday, January 31, with a single price of 10 euros and can be purchased in advance at the Department of Culture and www.festivalessanjavier.com or at the box office on the day of representation.
