Calling attention to the need to preserve the Mar Menor and the Baltic through the universal language of music is the main objective of the Erasmus + "Eco Sound" project in which the San Javier Professional Conservatory of Music and the Keski Pohjanmaan participate Konservatorio, of Kokkola, city of the Finnish Baltic coast, whose waters live a situation similar to that of the Mar Menor.
The Councilors of Education, David Martínez y Juventud, Isabel Madrid, together with Manuel Rocamora and Kirsi Pulkkinen, responsible for the project by the Conservatories of San Javier and Kokkola, today presented the initiative that will bring 15 students and four Finnish teachers from San Javier February 1 to 15.
The Finnish group and that of San Javier, who already traveled to Kokkola last September with 24 students, will work together combining music and environmental awareness offering four joint concerts one of them, rock, in the Garage of Murcia, on February 13 at 10:30 p.m., taking advantage of the participation of modern music students by both parties.
They can also be seen and heard on February 10 at the IES "Mar Menor", and on February 11 and 14 in the building of the Department of Youth of San Javier.
The project, which aims to promote the professional training of students as musicians, includes, together with teaching and rehearsal activities, a cultural program with visits to the Region that includes the presence of a Verdi Requiem rehearsal by the Orchestra Symphony of the Region of Murcia and a flamenco show at the Conservatory of Dance.
Keski Pohjanmaan pointed out the similarity of the situation that the Minor Sea is going through with the Baltic waters on the Finnish coast and was confident in bringing the message of union between the two seas to society.
The mayor of Culture, David Martínez pointed out the importance of this project through music and highlighted the great internationalization effort made by the Conservatory of San Javier as a way to enrich the training of both students and teachers.
In this sense, the Councilor for Youth, Isabel Madrid advanced the next Erasmus + project promoted, in this case from the AMPA of the Conservatory, which will be held from February 23 to March 1 in San Javier with the title "Making music, helping to people "with the participation of groups from Greece, Italy, France, Georgia and Ukraine.
During their stay in San Javier, participants in the project will offer concerts at the Hospital, a nursing home, and another open to the public with the Aidemar center as a guest.
