The works for the improvement of energy efficiency and renewable energy in public buildings included in the EDUSI San Javier will begin in the coming days after yesterday the contracts of the two lots in which the project is divided were signed.
The works, framed in the Operational Program for Sustainable Growth, have a total budget of 579,510.21 euros financed by 80 percent by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the rest by the City Council.
The companies awarded the two contracts, through a simplified open procedure, are Sociedad Ibérica de Construcciones Eléctricas, SA (SICE) and Roberto Ángel Tester
Lot 1, with a total of € 289,056.90, consists of the improvement of the lighting system in various facilities of the San Javier Municipal Sports Center such as the covered pavilion, the indoor pool, the auxiliary pavilion, the Pitín soccer field, the social building and all the exterior lighting of the sports courts.
The installation of LED-type luminaires replacing the current obsolete and energy-efficient technology luminaires.
Lot 2, with an amount of € 88,132.65, consists of the improvement of the boiler system in various facilities of the San Javier Municipal Sports Center such as the covered pavilion and in all the changing rooms of the sports facilities.
The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo stressed the importance of the project that modernizes the public lighting systems and the boiler system providing greater energy efficiency that impacts both the economic and environmental level.
Luengo recalled that the incorporation of LED technology has among other advantages the reduction of consumption that becomes 2.5 times less than that of a conventional bulb and 8.9 that an incandescent, in addition to not emitting ultraviolet rays, do not contain Toxic materials and can be regulated, allowing greater control of energy expenditure.
