The Ministry of Tourism, Youth and Sports invests 200,000 euros in the construction of a soccer field in Santiago de la Ribera, a contribution that represents almost 25 percent of the total project budget, which amounts to 770,085 euros, and whose difference contributes the City Council of San Javier.
The construction of the soccer field is part of the first phase of a performance that includes, on the same plot, two sports halls and external stands, whose use will be shared by local sports teams, the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the neighbors.
More than 400 students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences will benefit from the new infrastructure, as well as the Santiago de la Ribera FC team, Mar Menor FC, children's and youth schools and neighbors in the area, among others.
Minister Cristina Sánchez participated with the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, in the act of laying the first stone of this infrastructure whose works will be completed in four months.
These new facilities will give greater autonomy to the users of Santiago de La Ribera, since until then, both the neighbors and students and players of the local teams have had to move to the municipal pavilion of San Javier.
