A total of 17 families participate in the course "Mindfulness. Conscious attention and emotional intelligence for children of Infant and Primary" organized by the Department of Education of the City of San Javier, aimed at parents of students in the municipality.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Education, David Martínez visited yesterday one of the sessions of the program with which the Department of Education intends to bring new trends and tools that facilitate the role of families in the education of their children.
The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo stressed "the involvement and response of families to these initiatives that we will continue to support from the City Council of San Javier convinced of the importance of Education as a driver of social change and the importance of these innovative techniques that are revolutionizing education in both school and family settings. "
The course that is taught from January 30 to April 30 in 12 sessions and with a total of 24 hours, is the continuation of the last course aimed especially at families.
Previously, the Department of Education had taken Mindfulness to classrooms with workshops aimed at 6th grade students.
Mindfulness works in the educational field to promote concentration and mindfulness.
In addition, recent studies have highlighted the usefulness of Mindfulness among the youngest to improve not only the concentration but the regulation of emotions, compassion, kindness as well as pro-social skills such as empathy, patience and joy.
