San Javier has 43 confirmed COVID-19 infections (29/03/2020)

The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo reported today that the municipality of San Javier has 43 confirmed COVID-19 infections of which 10 are hospitalized and 34 with home medical follow-up, having tested positive for most of the symptomatic cases that were pending the test.

Also, during the day yesterday, 90 calls were received from people who reported the appearance of symptoms that could be compatible with the disease.

In his daily report on social networks, José Miguel Luengo, recalled that the San Javier Local Police has imposed a total of 201 complaints since last March 14 on people who were on public roads without justification and announced an increase in controls .

Luengo reiterated the importance of maintaining confinement "to try to lessen the impact of the disease in our municipality", and celebrated the announcement of the cessation of all non-essential activities made yesterday by the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez "because it will contribute to cut the virus transmission chain. "

Luengo was accompanied by the councilor for Public Services, María Dolores Ruiz, who reported on the disinfection work of public spaces that has been carried out daily since March 17.

Ruiz reported that there are currently 11 routes that include the sensitive spaces marked by the Ministry of Health such as supermarkets and small food shops, pharmacies, gas stations, senior centers, centers such as Aidemar or Fundamifp, medical centers, Local Police or Civil Protection.

For the disinfection work, there are municipal personnel and the concessionaire of the street cleaning service, the Army, Invied, Coag, and from today two teams of the Marine Corps, who will remain in San Javier until the end of the state of alarm , and forest brigades of the General Directorate for the Natural Environment.

The Councilor for Public Services indicated that the used solution of sodium hypochlorite, sodium hydroxide, detergent and bicarbonate improves cleaning and disinfection by producing a thickening of the drop of the solution that remains in the soil for longer, reactivating itself with human movement.

María Dolores Ruiz took the opportunity to appeal to citizens to deposit the gloves used to make purchases in supermarkets in the bins that have been reinforced on the doors.

In responses to questions raised by neighbors, the mayor of Public Services indicated as the most effective remedy to disinfect at home, a solution of 1 liter of water with 30 mm of bleach.

The mayor recommended the use of masks whenever you go to any crowded place, "because we can all be carriers of the virus", and thanked the contribution of 300 volunteers who have already made more than 6,000 masks that have been distributed in the municipality.
