The San Javier City Council, through its Occupational Risk Prevention service, has begun to carry out rapid COVID-19 detection tests on municipal workers in essential services such as Local Police, Civil Protection, Public Services and Social Services. The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo has explained that the tests, acquired by the City Council, serve to identify IgM and IgG antibodies in blood.
Luengo added that in the case of tests with a positive result, they would be referred to the SMS to carry out a PCR to confirm or rule out the disease.José Miguel Luengo explained that this measure is intended to protect municipal employees who have carried out a work of greater risk due to contact with third parties and provide them with greater security in the performance of their duties, both for themselves and their environment.
At the same time, he indicated, it is a preventive measure that would help cut the chain of transmission of the virus among his colleagues and contacts in the face of a hypothetical positive case. The tests, the results of which are known within a few minutes, have been carried out in shifts since yesterday and for the next few days at the headquarters of the mutual association of the Municipal Service for the Prevention of Occupational Risks, located in San Javier, prioritizing the positions that have been most in contact with the outside and with third parties.
