| The Minister of Public Works, José Ramón Díez de Revenga and the Mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo visited the works that improve pedestrian safety between the two towns separated by AP7 | The Mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo accompanied the Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díaz de Revenga today during a visit to the works of the new pedestrian crossing between Pozo Aledo and San Javier, which spans the branch under the AP7, which separates the two localities, with a new sidewalk of 150 meters that crosses a concrete frame 2.5 meters high by 5 wide, compared to 2 meters high by 2 wide that the previous one had. José Miguel Luengo highlighted "the great difference" established by the new step that also improves the lighting and conditioning of the rest of the route with greater safety for pedestrians joining the sidewalks from the exit of Pozo Aledo until connecting with the existing ones in San Javier .
The performance, which has involved an investment of 327,313 euros financed by the Ministry of Development, has a continuous safety railing in the section that coincides with the road and lighting throughout the route with LED technology. The Minister of Public Works, José Ramón Díez de Revenga announced the end of the works next June and highlighted that in addition to the pedestrian improvements, the action improves the channeling of rainwater through the construction of a platform on a drainage trough of the highway to allow the flow to pass, mitigating the accumulations of water in the area in cases of heavy rains. Mayor José Miguel Luengo thanked the regional government for its commitment to San Javier "to provide a solution to the historical demand for a dignified step between San Javier and Pozo Aledo" and highlighted the improvements established by the action with respect to the previous access that was also used as a rainwater passage and that left it unusable in episodes of heavy rain.
